In 1999, Hasegawa was appointed Chief Curator of 21st Century Museum of nContemporary Art, Kanazawa, which opened in October 2004. She also nserves as a board member of the International Committee for Museums and nCollections of Modern Art. She was a member of the international jury nfor the Venice Biennale, 1999, Artistic Director of the 7th nInternational Istanbul Biennial, 2001, a member of the jury for the Hugon Boss Prize, 2002, Co-Curator of the 4th Shanghai Biennale, 2002, and ncommissioner of Japanese Pavilion of 50th Venice Biennale, 2003. Recent nexhibitions include ‘De-Genderism - de’truire dit-elle/il’ at the nSetagaya Art Museum, 1997; ‘Fancy Dance’, an exhibition of Contemporary nJapanese Artists, at the Sonje Art Museum, Kyonju, and Sonje Art Center,n Seoul, 1999; and ‘Shirin Neshat’, 2001, which took place as part of then pre-opening events for the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. nHasegawa also teaches art history at Tokyo National University of Fine nArts and Music.
